Give your own twist to the Draaj bird!
DRAAJ birds are objects created by artist Karim Eharruyen. Each bird is handmade in his atelier in The Netherlands out of a solid piece of wood and is an unique object.
Karim Eharruyen started working with wood as a raw material for his objects around 2002. By experimenting with different techniques and shapes, eventually the buliq arose: two balancing rounded shapes that combine into a bird. The head is placed unattached on the body and can express any mood, such as a look of wonder or modesty.
Karim uses wood types such as oak, maple, zebrano and coconut. All wood is certified or is recycled.
The DRAAJ collection consists of handcrafted objects designed by the Utrecht artist, wood turner and musician Karim Eharruyen.
