Give your own twist to the Draaj bird!
DRAAJ birds are objects created by artist Karim Eharruyen. Each bird is handmade in his atelier in The Netherlands out of a solid piece of wood and is an unique object.
Karim Eharruyen started working with wood as a raw material for his objects around 2002. By experimenting with different techniques and shapes, eventually the archetype arose: two balancing rounded shapes that combine into a bird. The head is placed unattached on the body and can express any mood, such as a look of wonder or modesty.
Karim uses wood types such as oak, maple, zebrano and coconut. All wood is certified or is recycled.
