From the Mater Ocean Series, the lounge(outside) table
For the design of this Ocean Lounge Table, use was made of an innovative design of the famous design duo Jørgen and Nanna Ditzel from the 1950s. At the time, the table was made of a steel frame and a wooden veneer lattice work. This slatted work has been replaced by a plastic slatted work, made from, inter alia, discarded fishing nets that are otherwise often dumped into the sea. Or, for the CO2 green version, they used recycled beer kegs.
The series is characterized by its light structure with repeated slats and metal frames. The orginal design was steelframed and timber veneer slats. The timber veneer is replaced by recycled ocean waste plastics. There's 1224 gram of recycled hard plastic in this lounge table.
This table can be used in- and outdoors. The material is tested for outdoor use. The Ocean Collection is designed for disassembly, meaning that the design allows each component in its purest form to recycle into new production circles.
