From the Mater Ocean Series, the (outside) table
For the design of this Ocean Table, use was made of an innovative design of the famous design duo Joergen and Nanna Ditzel from the 1950s. At the time, the table was made of a steel frame and a wooden veneer lattice work. This slatted work has been replaced by a plastic slatted work, made from, inter alia, discarded fishing nets that are otherwise often dumped into the sea.
The series is characterized by its light structure with repeated slats and metal frames. The orginal design was steelframed and timber veneer slats. The timber veneer is replaced by recycled ocean waste plastics.
The chair can be uses in- and outdoors. The chair and material is tested for outdoor use. The Ocean Collection is designed for disassembly, meaning that the design allows each component in its purest form to recycle into new production circles.
This is a table for 2 persons. There's also a 4 persons version available.
