The Normann Copenhagen journal Desk: functional & stylish
A coloured desktop flirts with a light steel frame in the design of the Journal desk by Normann Copenhagen. Journal is functional down to the smallest detail and has an inviting appearance, which makes it a stylish addition to any modern decor.
The designer’s intention with Journal has been to create a desk that is compatible with the requirements of our time. Simon Legald has created a table with a thoroughly stylish design that can join as a harmonious and aesthetically relevant part of the home’s decor. The desk is suitably small, so that it doesn’t take up too much space.
The simple frame is inspired by old French industrial furniture and is constructed from a combination of tubular steel and sheet steel with slightly outward sloping legs. The frame and the laminate desktop are coloured in the same subdued shades. The monochrome look is lightly interrupted by the desktop’s oak edge, which adds an element of softness to the design.
In the design of Journal, practical usage is addressed by discrete functional details. The desktop has an integrated wire grommet, while a steel drawer under the desktop provides space for office supplies. The desk drawer can be placed either on the left or the right side, depending on the preference and working procedure of the user. The little details of Journal help to create a pleasant environment in which good ideas can flow freely.
