Design House Stockholm Olivia Stoel
With the Olivia Chair, designer Tatu Laakso was looking for a balance between lightness, strength and comfort. The beautiful arch in the backrest is shaped and curved by several layers of plywood. Backrest and legs are one piece. The recess in de backrest relieves your spine and allows your back muscles to rest against the edge. The Olivia chair has an elegant appearance, while the seating comfort is very high.
With great attention to detail, the young Finnish designer made the legs slightly thicker than the backrest for durability and strength. Tatu was inspired and triggered by the designs of Alvar Aalto and already made the Olivia chair during his master's studies at the Aalto University of Art, Design and Architecture in Finland.
The chair is made of oak and rubber wood veneer, available in four different lacquered versions.
