Designed in 1956, LOVESEAT reflects Lucian Ercolani's critical eye for detail and is characterized by a blend of beauty and functionality. By reducing his designs to their most simplistic, elemental form, Ercolani was able to draw attention to the most important characteristics of natural wood, durable, tangible and timeless. Ercolani's creations reflect the designer's sincere vocation to his craft and remain as beautiful and relevant as in previous decades.
Loosely inspired by the silhouette of the Windsor chair, the LOVESEAT has a molded wooden seat and spindle backrest, slightly curved to conform to the body's natural contours and provide optimal comfort. The LOVESEAT shows the traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery techniques, where the legs of the loveseat are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. These joints are then sanded until they are flush with the seat to create a strong and durable base, built to withstand the demands of everyday life.
The LOVESEAT is available in both solid ash and walnut. The ash variant is also available in nine bespoke color finishes.

L.Ercolani
Founded by Italian-born furniture maker Lucian Ercolani, the company rose to prominence in post-war Britain and marked a seminal chapter in mid-century design history. Ercolani established his business in the heart of High Wycombe, a traditional joinery in the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire. It was there that the young designer first successfully industrialized the production of the Windsor chair, demonstrating a level of mechanical precision and ingenuity unheard of at the time. This innovative method of production, coupled with the innate purity and clean, architectural integrity of Ercolani's designs, propelled the company to nationwide success in the late 1940s.
