Sunglasses, animal costumes and theater, Grammy-winning legend and one of the world's best-selling pop artists for 50 years, Sir Elton John bids farewell to an outstanding concert career with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour and a final performance in July 2023. Commemorating the revolutionary career of Elton, now comes this special edition kokeshi doll from his farewell promotional poster, featuring Elton wearing a Gucci-designed blue tracksuit emblazoned with “EHJ” on the back. This kokeshi doll was produced in a limited edition.

The Kokeshi dolls are made of Beech wood and meticulously hand painted. The dolls are sealed in a hard wearing Satin varnish for a smooth and tactile finish. The characters within the collection were born from Becky's sketchbook doodles of caricatured icons from the art and design world as a celebration of those who have influenced and inspired. There are also imaginary figures available.

Kokeshi dolls originate in north-Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face.

Becky Kemp is the artist behind the creative world of Sketch.Inc. Her work is inspired by geometric expression, Japanese illustrations and Nordic aesthetics. In 2015 she started to work with Lucie Kaas, a Danish company that has the same fascination for geometric expression and loves to tell the stories of the designers they represent.
