Petite Friture Fromme Soft Barstool
This lightweight aluminum bar stool is stackable and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The Fromme barstool is very comfortable due to the rubbers placed under the seat.
The design of this chair is inspired by the personal story of designer Tom Chung. An experienced cyclist, he climbed Fromme Mountain outside of Vancouver and was fascinated by the technical performance of his bike. He tried to rediscover the efficiency that the latter brought him to reinvent the most common object and yet the greatest challenge for a designer: a designer chair.
Released in 2020, Petite Friture's Fromme collection is the result of the first collaboration with designer Tom Chung.
The seat has been upholstered using high quality jersey cotton that features a pattern made specifically for Petite Friture. The fabric cover is removable (velcro) en reversible and is available in two colours:
- Dark blue squares with an electric-blue outline / electric-blue squares with a dark blue outline
- Cream squares with a black outline / black squares with a cream outline
The chair is made of aluminum, stackable and suitable for outdoor use.

Designer Tom Chung
Tom Chung is a Canadian independent industrial designer who founded his studio in 2016 in Toronto. His studio mainly focuses on industrial objects and interior spaces. His work has received a lot of recognition. In 2013 he was a finalist of the Design Parade. In 2018, he was named Product Designer of the Year by Designlines Magazine. The quality and the finish of his work was highlighted by the Wallpaper Design Award in 2019 for the "Best Finishing Touch".
